Our History
ACU-Serve is an end-to-end revenue cycle management company offering solutions from intake through cash posting. For over 30 plus years, we have been a strategic business partner for HME providers across the United States.
We have more than 500 US based employees combined with 1000 global resources, allowing ACU-Serve to offer a cost-effective full-service solution. Our team processes in excess of $2B annually through our proprietary software, ACU-Insight.
Our Leadership Team
Jim Knight
Partner and CEO
Jim has an accounting background and has performed implementation, consulting and training on home medical equipment software, as well as manufacturing and distribution accounting software. He has been in the home health care field for over 25 years and currently manages over 100 people. As the C.E.O., Jim has incorporated policies, procedures and technology to motivate and manage hundreds of people. He has also conducted several courses at software user conferences and state association meetings.
Amie Barone
Chief Operating Officer
Amie Barone serves as Chief Operating Officer at ACU-Serve, where she leads the operational strategy and execution across the organization’s full revenue cycle management platform. Since joining the company in 2006, Amie has played a critical role in scaling ACU-Serve into a national partner for HME and infusion providers, ensuring performance, consistency, and accountability at every stage of the revenue cycle.
She oversees all core operational functions, including A/R, quality assurance, documentation retrieval, order intake and processing, and cash posting, as well as ACU-Serve’s U.S. and global delivery teams. Under her leadership, these teams are aligned around one goal: driving measurable financial outcomes for clients through disciplined execution, process optimization, and embedded compliance.
In addition to operations, Amie leads client services, working directly with partners to identify opportunities to improve revenue performance, accelerate cash, and reduce operational friction. Her approach is rooted in hands-on execution, bridging the gap between strategy and day-to-day performance to ensure clients see real, sustained results.
With nearly two decades of industry experience, Amie brings a deep understanding of the complexities facing today’s providers, particularly in high-pressure environments like infusion and respiratory care. She is known for her ability to identify where revenue breaks down, implement scalable solutions, and build teams that deliver with precision.
Amie is a graduate of The University of Akron and remains actively engaged in advancing operational excellence throughout the healthcare revenue cycle.
Noel Neil
Chief Compliance Officer
Noel joined the ACU-Serve team in 2021. He has over 16 years’ experience in the DME industry working in Intake, Billing and Compliance Departments. He brings to the team years of experience in audit defense. He represents multiple suppliers in practically all types of Medicare audits from initial request all the way to the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) and in some cases the Depart of Appeals Board (DAB). In his current role, Noel is responsible for implementing and monitoring of the company’s corporate compliance program. He also oversees our Internal Audit Department.
Noel serves on the Medicare Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Groups for Jurisdictions A, C and D, the MYCGS Advisory Group and the Medicare Jurisdictions B and D Councils. He speaks at Medtrade and various state associations on topic related to Medicare reimbursement and audit and appeal strategies
Noel received a Juris Masters (JM) Law Degree, from Florida State University College of Law, with concentration in Health Care Regulation. Noel is also a Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC), Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) and a subject matter expert (SME) for the 2021 – 2022 revision of the CDME exam.
Noel enjoys interacting with suppliers and breaking down seemingly complex policies in simpler terms most suppliers can relate to.
Grant Porteous
Chief Technology Officer
Grant Porteous is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ACU-Serve, where he leads the company’s technology strategy, innovation, and scalability initiatives. With over 25 years of experience in healthcare technology, Grant specializes in optimizing revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions, automation, and data-driven advancements.
Before joining ACU-Serve, Grant served as Vice President of Software Development at Experian Health, where he played a key role in developing core RCM infrastructure, driving efficiency improvements, and leading high-performing technology teams. His expertise spans software development, IT operations, cybersecurity, and product strategy.
A visionary leader known for fostering collaboration and innovation, Grant is dedicated to enhancing ACU-Serve’s technology to improve client outcomes and streamline healthcare financial processes. He holds a Master’s in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Durban.
Victor Barnes
Chief Financial Officer
Victor joined ACU-Serve in 2025 and leads the company’s financial strategy, forecasting, and reporting. Prior to joining ACU-Serve, he worked as Vice President of Finance at CarePayment, partnering with healthcare providers to provide patient financing and payment engagement solutions. Victor is a CPA and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Accountancy.
James Dragatsis
President of Resupply
Jim joined the ACU-Serve team in March 2024 as the President of Resupply when ACU-Serve acquired Beyond HME, a company he founded.
Jim’s tenure in the HME industry spans over two decades from being the COO of a large HME in Chicago to founding AllCall Connect in 2013. Jim successfully grew AllCall Connect to manage over a half million patients and sold to Brightree in 2017. He continued to serve as the President of AllCall / Brightree Live Call for four years before retiring at the end of 2021.
Jacqui Rose
President of Infusion
With more than 20 years of expertise in infusion reimbursement and AR recovery, Jacqui is deeply committed to helping organizations optimize their revenue processes and achieve sustained financial success.
Her career has been defined by hands-on leadership in revenue management, AR outsourcing, and team development. Jacqui’s unique approach focuses on building long-term relationships with clients, tailoring solutions to their specific needs, and providing step-by-step guidance for growth and operational efficiency. Over the last decade, she’s worked closely with AIC clients to develop strategies that drive bottom-line results and maximize revenue recovery, partnering with and guiding startups or already established AIC companies through every step of their revenue cycle journey.
Jacqui’s work is built on a foundation of trust and collaboration, and she’s known for her ability to cultivate and lead high-performing teams that deliver measurable outcomes. Whether helping a client improve their AR processes or navigate complex revenue cycle challenges, Jacqui’s focus remains on empowering AIC companies to thrive in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
Heather DeSimone
Vice President, People and Culture
Heather joined the ACU-Serve Team in 2012 and has served as our Vice President of Human Resources and Culture since 2017. With a passion for fostering a dynamic and inclusive culture she has a focus on talent, engagement, and retention. ACU-Serve strives to empower employees to realize their full potential, which has been key to driving continuous growth. Heather believes that a strong corporate culture is the foundation of long-term success. Heather is a SHRM certified professional with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Margaret Lindskog
Executive VP of Resupply
Margaret joined the ACU-Serve team in March 2024 as the Executive Vice President of Resupply when ACU-Serve acquired Beyond HME. Margaret had served as Beyond HME's Chief Operating Officer and Partner since August 2023.
Lindskog joined Jim Dragatsis in founding AllCall Connect In 2013. As director of operations, she managed more than 500,000 patients and oversaw 200+ employees. After AllCall Connect was acquired by ResMed/Brightree in 2017, she remained in her role leading all call center operations across the US and Canada. In 2021 Margaret was promoted to senior director of resupply customer success, taking three different customer success teams within Brightree under her leadership to form one cohesive team. In this position, her team managed more than 400 HME clients, encompassing customer success of both resupply software and SAAS divisions.
Sid Simmons
Executive VP of Sales
Sid joined ACU-Serve in January of 2025 and is a seasoned sales and operations leader with a distinguished track record of success in building, leading, and operationalizing high-performing sales organizations serving the post-acute healthcare space. Sid most recently was Vice President of Sales at Corridor, powered by WellSky where he oversaw sales for the Advisory and Outsourced Services team within the Home Health and Hospice business unit.
Sid has a bachelor's degree from Stetson University and an MBA from the University of Florida. Outside of work, Sid enjoys golf, fishing, cheering on the Florida Gators and any activity that gets him outside with his wife and three sons.
