BOC Names Noel Neil With Top Award

The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) announced Noel Neil, JM, CDME, as its 2023 Certificant of the Year. This recognition honors a BOC-certified professional for outstanding contributions to their profession, including commitments to service, research and outreach.

An expert in the areas of billing, auditing, appeals and regulatory compliance, Neil serves as vice president of auditing and corporate compliance at ACU-Serve Corp, where he is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the company’s corporate compliance program. He also offers audit defense and policy-specific education and guidance to ACU-Serve’s existing clients, representing multiple suppliers in all types of Medicare audits and appeals, from the initial request to the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) and in some cases, the Department of Appeals Board (DAB). Neil also helps durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) providers navigate the complex terrain of reimbursement and profitability of potential products, with an eye toward helping them grow their business compliantly.

“I am honored and humbled to be named BOC’s Certificant of the Year, especially knowing I am the first Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) to hold this accolade,” said Neil. “I love what I do and humbly accept this award with great pride. I look forward to continuing to serve as an ambassador and advocate for BOC’s CDME certification. BOC is an amazing organization with some of the brightest minds in the industry.”

BOC said it is proud to recognize Neil for his accomplishments and contributions.

The nomination period for BOC’s next Certificant of the Year award will open in Fall 2023. Those eligible for the award include BOC-certified durable medical equipment specialists, mastectomy fitters, orthotic fitters, orthotists, pedorthists and prosthetists.
